The new single from experimental hardcore punk band Expose is the blistering ‘Speed Dial’. In under a minute, the band bring together a world of furious noise reminiscent of Osees, but with a more restrained vocal performance. Despite its short runtime, the track is still able to start life as a thunderous punk performance with seriously lo-fi production, before melting into a rhythmic breakdown and amping back up into one final wash of analogue synth sound. The band’s new album, ETC, is out on January 24th, 2025 via Quindi Records. It’s filled with aggressive sounds and surprising emotional weight, with layers of synth and free-jazz saxophone adding twists and turns to an already unique sound. -Dan Peeke
